Eric Flask

Eric Flask B.Sc (Business & Computing), MBA (Henley), GTC. in VET. 

Eric Flask obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Computing from the University of Malta in 1998 and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Henley Management College, UK in 2008 where his dissertation focused on Market Orientation and Innovation in ICT Service SMEs. He recently obtained a Graduate Training Certificate in Vocational and Educational Training (VET) with Distinction from the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST). He currently heads the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Department at MCAST. 

For several years, Eric was a Director at the Malta Council for Science and Technology (MCST) in charge of the National Research and Innovation Programme. Prior to his job with MCST, Eric worked as a Consultant with the Malta Information Technology & Training Services – MITTS Ltd (today the Malta Information Technology Agency – MITA) and later with the Central Information Management Unit (CIMU) within the Office of the Prime Minister where he was responsible for the development of various policies and standards for the public sector including Maltese Standards through the Malta Standards Authority – MSA (today the Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority – MCCAA). 


Throughout his career, Eric has been actively involved in European Union funded Projects with specific focus on Research and Innovation, ICT and Higher Education. He was, for several years, National Contact Point and Programme Committee Member for ICT for the Sixth and Seventh Framework Programme for Research, Technological Development and Demonstration of the European Commission (FP6 and FP7), representing Malta in the ICT field.
