Mr Steve Agius

Chairman of the Adjudication Committee

Steve Agius works as a Chief of Information and Development with the Malta Communications Authority. Apart from his role in Strategic Information Management, he is currently coordinating a number of national initiatives aimed at supporting E-inclusion and digital participation. He has also participated in the crafting of the national digital strategy, Digital Malta. Steve is also a Visiting Senior Lecturer at University of Malta where he lectures Digital Analytics for Marketing Professionals and Digital Marketing. Steve is the co-founder of the Malta Internet Governance Forum and EuroCloud Malta and participates in the EC High Level Working Group on Internet Governance. He is also a core member of the ENISA expert working group on Cloud Computing advising the EU on cloud computing security issues. Steve studied computer science and information systems and gained an honours degree from the University of Greenwich in UK followed by an MBA in e-Business from the University of Malta. He is currently researching big data, social media analytics, sentiment analysis and business intelligence.

Mr Michael Galea

Also an articulate and diplomatic communicator plus an effective team player with strong coaching skills. Consistently works to the highest professional standards and thrives when working as part of a cohesive team to deliver projects that yield multiple business benefits. Mr Galea is the Managing Director of GGS Ltd: A self grown Company involved in the dealership of cars – used ( various brands) and new ( Toyota), spare parts and servicing. Representatives for Ehrle German Engineered self-service carwash systems for Malta, North- Africa and Middle East. Insurance intermediaries for Gasan Mamo Insurance. Rem/ax Real Estate : Franchise owner / Director for two Remax offices : Remax Property Centre Gozo, Remax Pender St. Julians. Shareholder / Director in various Property Development Companies. ShareHolder / Director in Jules Boutique Hotels.

Mr John Scicluna

John B Scicluna is the Head of Quality and Administration at The Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry where, besides quality and administration, he is also in charge of business surveys and examination services. For many years John was responsible for the business sectors within the Malta Chamber, and formerly at the Malta Federation of Industry, where he worked to support the ICT and other business sections that form part of Malta’s business and industrial landscape. John has a long experience representing business and employers on various government and non-government boards and committees both in Malta and abroad. This is the third time that he has been nominated to sit on the e-Biz adjudication committee.

Mr John Mallia

John Mallia (BA (Hons) Bus. Mangt; MBA), is Managing Director, Mediacoop, a media, marketing, communications, PR and training co-operative. His past work experiences include the National Audit Office, St. Edward’s College and Grands Real Estate Marketing and Capital Radio. He has been involved in training since 1998, and has conducted courses both for public as well as for private sector organisations. John Mallia specialises in the areas of motivational training as well as customer care and PR. He also provides consultancy services relating to customer care, work relationships, marketing, image management, Public Relations, teamwork, communication and co-operatives. John Mallia has been involved in various high profile marketing and PR campaigns, and also facilitates various teambuilding events. He has directed different award-winning media productions for television including ‘Harbourlife’ and ‘Valletta – Ilwien ta’ Belt’ on TVM, as well videos for corporate clients. He is also President of the Malta Co-operative Federation.

Prof. Ing. Saviour Zammit

Prof. Ing. Saviour Zammit is Pro-Rector for Research and Knowledge Transfer at the University of Malta, the founding director of the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Business Incubation, and an Associate Professor with the Faculty of ICT at the same University. His research interests are in broadband communications and the Internet of Things, but he also nurtures a passion for innovation and entrepreneurship. Previous to joining the University of Malta, Prof. Zammit was a serial entrepreneur, starting-up more than fifteen companies in the telecommunications, ICT and business management sectors. Prof. Zammit served on the board of directors of many private and public entities including Maltacom, Go Mobile, Vodafone Malta, Water Services Corporation and MCAST. Currently he is deputy chairman of the Water Services Corporation and a director of PEI Limited, a joint venture between the UM and the MBB, which recently launched Malta’s first crowdfunding platform – ZAAR.

Mr Ronald Attard

Mr Ronald Attard, FCCA FCMA FIA CPA BA (HONS) Acctcy CGMA, is the country managing partner of EY in Malta and transactions advisory services leader for central and south east Europe. Over the years Ronald has led a number of due diligence and valuation engagements. He has also supported a number of companies in setting up in Malta. During recent years Ronald also established a managed services centre in Malta which provides a number of services largely to the financial services industry. These services include support in KYC, AML, remediation as well as financial and regulatory reporting.
